Kalo Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using Kalo, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use Kalo.

2. About Kalo

Kalo is a product by ABABOK and is operated by ABAB Labs. Kalo helps users log meals, estimate calories, review daily intake, and view movement-related calorie burn.

Kalo is intended for general wellness and informational use. Features may include AI food recognition, meal history, manual edits, account sync, and Apple Health permission-based movement data display.

3. Not Medical Advice

Kalo is not medical, nutrition, diagnosis, treatment, or professional advice. Kalo is not a substitute for a doctor, dietitian, nutritionist, trainer, or other qualified professional.

You should consult qualified professionals before making decisions about health conditions, diets, exercise, weight management, medication, treatment, or any other medical or nutrition matter.

4. AI and Calorie Estimates

Food recognition, calorie estimates, portion estimates, and nutrition-related outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, delayed, or unsuitable for your needs.

You are responsible for reviewing and editing recognized food names, portions, and calorie values. ABAB Labs does not guarantee the accuracy of food names, calories, portions, nutrition estimates, movement burn values, or related information.

5. User Responsibilities

You agree to use Kalo lawfully and responsibly.

• Provide accurate information when accuracy is needed for app functionality.
• Do not misuse, reverse engineer, attack, scrape, overload, or disrupt Kalo or related services.
• Do not attempt to bypass security, access other accounts, or expose private credentials or API keys.
• Do not upload illegal, harmful, abusive, infringing, or otherwise inappropriate content.
• Do not use Kalo in a way that violates applicable law or the rights of others.

6. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and sign-in credentials. Notify ABAB Labs if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

You may sign out of Kalo or request account deletion by contacting supportabb@abblabs.com. ABAB Labs may suspend or terminate accounts that misuse Kalo, violate these Terms, or create risk for other users or services.

7. Apple Health and Permissions

Kalo accesses Apple Health data only after you grant permission. You can revoke Health permissions at any time through Apple Health or iOS Settings.

Movement burn, active calories, and related values shown in Kalo are informational estimates. They should not be treated as medical measurements or professional health advice.

8. Photos and User Content

You retain ownership of photos, meal records, notes, edits, and other content you provide to Kalo. You grant ABAB Labs a limited permission to process that content only as needed to provide, maintain, secure, and support Kalo features.

You should not upload content that you do not have the right to use. You are responsible for the content you choose to provide through Kalo.

9. Third-Party Services

Kalo may rely on third-party services such as Supabase, OpenAI or similar AI providers, Apple, Google, and other service providers. These services may have their own terms, privacy policies, and operational practices.

ABAB Labs is not responsible for third-party services except to the extent required by applicable law.

10. Paid Features

Kalo may offer paid features in the future. If paid features are introduced, prices and purchase terms will be presented clearly before purchase.

Unless a purchase flow states otherwise, these Terms do not describe a current subscription, renewal, or refund process.

11. Intellectual Property

Kalo, ABABOK, ABAB Labs, and the related software, design, user interface, branding, logos, text, and other materials are owned by ABAB Labs or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.

These Terms do not give you ownership of Kalo or any ABAB Labs intellectual property.

12. Disclaimers

Kalo is provided "as is" and "as available." ABAB Labs does not guarantee that Kalo will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or accurate.

ABAB Labs does not guarantee that food recognition, calorie estimates, movement burn values, sync, storage, or other app features will meet your expectations or be available at all times.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ABAB Labs will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, loss of profits, service interruption, or health decisions made based on estimates shown in Kalo.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

14. Termination

You may stop using Kalo at any time. ABAB Labs may suspend or terminate access to Kalo if you violate these Terms, misuse the app, create risk for other users or services, or if ABAB Labs stops offering Kalo.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply after your use of Kalo ends.

15. Changes to Terms

ABAB Labs may update these Terms from time to time. If the Terms change, ABAB Labs will update the Effective Date above. Continued use of Kalo after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms will be interpreted to the extent permitted by applicable law. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you may have under mandatory local consumer protection or privacy laws.
