Privacy Policy

1. Overview

ABAB Labs ("ABAB Labs," "we," "us," or "our") operates ABAB OK, including ababok.com, our mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information.

ABAB OK uses artificial intelligence and may rely on third-party AI and model API providers, including OpenAI and other model providers, to process prompts, files, messages, conversation context, outputs, and related technical information. Before submitting an AI request, please make sure you are authorized to share the information you provide. In the app, we may also ask for explicit permission before sending personal information to third-party AI providers.

The English version of this Privacy Policy controls to the extent permitted by law if a translation conflicts with it.

2. Personal Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of personal information, depending on how you use the Services:

  • Identifiers and contact information: name, email address, account ID, user name, and similar identifiers.
  • Account and profile information: login credentials, preferences, language settings, subscription status, and account activity.
  • AI interaction content: prompts, questions, uploaded files, messages, conversation history, outputs, feedback, and related context you provide when using AI features.
  • Support and communications: messages you send to us, support requests, survey responses, and related metadata.
  • Device, usage, and log data: IP address, approximate location derived from IP address, device identifiers, browser or app information, operating system, pages or features viewed, timestamps, diagnostics, crash logs, and security logs.
  • Payment and transaction information: purchase records, subscription status, and payment-related identifiers processed by app stores or payment processors. We do not intentionally collect full payment card numbers.
  • Sensitive information you choose to provide:AI prompts may include information about personal, financial, health, family, immigration, location, or other sensitive topics. Please avoid providing sensitive, confidential, or unnecessary personal information unless it is needed for your request, you are authorized to share it, and you understand that it may be processed as described in this Policy.

We aim to minimize personal information we collect and retain. We do not intentionally collect personal information that is unnecessary to provide, secure, support, or comply with legal obligations for the Services.

3. How We Use Personal Information

We use personal information to:

  • Provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Services;
  • Process AI requests, transmit relevant content to AI/model providers, generate outputs, and maintain conversation experiences;
  • Create and manage accounts, authenticate users, and provide customer support;
  • Personalize settings, remember preferences, and provide localized experiences;
  • Monitor performance, debug issues, prevent fraud, protect against abuse, and keep the Services secure;
  • Analyze aggregate usage trends and improve product quality;
  • Process purchases, subscriptions, renewals, refunds, and related notices where paid features are offered;
  • Comply with law, enforce our terms, respond to lawful requests, and protect the rights, safety, and property of ABAB Labs, users, and others;
  • Carry out any other purpose disclosed to you with your consent.

4. AI Providers and Model Processing

When you use AI features, we may send your prompts, uploaded content, conversation context, outputs, and related technical information to third-party AI/model API providers, including OpenAI and other model providers, solely as needed to provide, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Services.

We do not permit AI providers to use personal information from ABAB OK to train their general models except where you have consented or we have clearly disclosed that use. Providers may retain limited logs or content for safety, abuse monitoring, security, legal compliance, or service operations according to their contractual terms and data controls.

AI outputs can be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or similar to outputs provided to other users. Do not rely on AI output as the only source of truth or as a substitute for professional advice.

5. How We Disclose Personal Information

We do not sell personal information. We also do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under California privacy law. We may disclose personal information to:

  • AI and model providers: to process requests, generate responses, maintain safety, and support AI features.
  • Service providers and processors: hosting, database, authentication, analytics, crash reporting, customer support, security, email, and infrastructure providers that process information on our behalf.
  • Payment processors and app stores: to process purchases, subscriptions, refunds, and tax or accounting records.
  • Professional advisors: legal, accounting, audit, insurance, and other advisors where reasonably needed.
  • Authorities or other parties when required: to comply with law, legal process, or enforceable governmental requests, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
  • Business transfer parties: in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.
  • With your direction or consent: when you ask us to share information or authorize a specific disclosure.

We require service providers to use personal information only for permitted purposes and to provide protections consistent with this Policy and applicable law.

6. Cookies, Analytics, and Preference Signals

We may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember language and product preferences, secure the Services, measure performance, and understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser or device settings, but disabling them may affect functionality.

If we become subject to a legal obligation to honor opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control, we will process those signals as required by applicable law.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including to provide the Services, maintain records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, comply with legal obligations, and protect security.

  • Account information is generally retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward unless a longer period is required by law.
  • AI conversations, prompts, uploads, and outputs are retained only as reasonably needed to provide features you use, support the service, troubleshoot, maintain safety, and comply with legal obligations.
  • Security, diagnostic, and abuse-prevention logs are generally retained for a limited period unless needed for investigations, security, or legal reasons.
  • Backups may retain deleted information for a limited time until overwritten or deleted in the ordinary course.

You may request deletion by contacting support@abablabs.com. We may need to retain certain information where permitted or required by law, including for security, fraud prevention, tax, accounting, dispute resolution, or legal compliance.

8. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including access controls, encryption in transit where appropriate, monitoring, and vendor controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, contact support@abablabs.com and we will take appropriate steps to delete it. Users under 18 should use the Services only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.

10. U.S. State Privacy Rights

Depending on your U.S. state of residence and our legal obligations, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or portability of your personal information; to opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or certain profiling; to limit use or disclosure of sensitive personal information; to withdraw consent; and to appeal a denied privacy request.

To exercise privacy rights, contact support@abablabs.com and include your name, contact information, state of residence, and the right you wish to exercise. We may verify your request before responding. You may use an authorized agent where permitted by law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.

11. California Notice

For California residents, the categories of personal information we may have collected in the preceding 12 months are described in Section 2. The sources, purposes, and categories of recipients are described in Sections 2 through 5.

  • We do not sell personal information.
  • We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • We do not knowingly sell or share personal information of consumers under 16.
  • We use sensitive personal information only for permitted service, security, legal, and consented purposes.
  • We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes without your consent.

12. International Transfers

ABAB Labs is based in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the United States, your personal information may be processed in the United States and other jurisdictions where we or our service providers operate. Those jurisdictions may have data protection laws different from those in your location.

13. Changes and Contact

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will provide notice as required by law, such as by posting the updated Policy or notifying you through the Services.
